Q: How did you get into dogs and what lifestyle do you associate you with them?
A: Animals are my great passion, and sometimes I dream of one day owning my own farm with horses, chickens, goats and other animals. But here on Lake Zurich, I have limited my love of animals to two cats and a cheeky dachshund.
When I lived in Hawaii, we had an Australian Red Heeler. She loved to go surfing with us and always surprised us with her great tricks. Her character was really special - you could feel her wild dingo ancestry.
Q: How often do you talk to your dog and about what (fashion, style...)?
A: Yes, I talk to my animals every day, and to be honest I can't remember what I say. I think many people don't even realise that they talk to their animals because it's so natural.
Q: What are your favourite restaurants, bars, cafes and parks to visit with your dog?
A: Our favourite place to go for a walk is the Küsnachter Tobel, which is just around the corner and incredibly relaxing. Our dog Orlando almost always accompanies us to restaurants. On Saturdays, we have a fixed ritual as a family: we go for coffee in Seefeld. We sit outside together, watch the colourful hustle and bustle and enjoy our time together.
Q: Which dog habits do you prefer to keep under wraps and what do you insist on?
A: Unfortunately, I'm not so consistent when it comes to giving orders - my husband is much better at that! But one thing is non-negotiable with us: the dog is not allowed on the sofa or in bed.
Q: Do you travel with your dog and where do you prefer to go? And what should not be missing?
A: We often travel by plane, and in such cases Orlando stays at home as he doesn't like city trips - they are too stressful for him. However, when we spend a weekend in the countryside or go golfing, he naturally comes with us.
Q: What do you value in dog accessories?
A: I'm more of a practical person and prefer the best quality. For me, the choice of colour is the most important thing - I make sure that the accessories match Orlando's brown coat. I vary the collar and lead depending on the season: In winter I tend to choose muted earth tones, in summer it can be fresher and more colourful.
